FALL VIDEO FESTIVAL AWARDS CEREMONY

“The Fall Video Festival is a ‘slam dunk’ celebration of what makes community media great.”

The National Basketball Hall of Fame is hosting this year’s FALL VIDEO FESTIVAL AWARDS on Saturday, November 12. Everyone is invited to cheer on the First Place Winners of the Program awards and the Special Leadership Awards as they make their acceptance speeches. Second and Third place winners will have their names announced and receive their certificates from ACM-NE Board members on the side of the stage. Photo ops for all!

This event is FREE!


The doors will open at 6:30 pm with a reception in the beautiful marble lobby. Refreshments from Max’s and a cash bar will be available. The awards will be given out starting at 7:15 pm in the state of the art Theatre where clips of the winners will be displayed on a large screen. Keith Thibault returns for another year as Master of Ceremonies.

Sessions at 1 pm

“Digital Tapeless Workflow in an Access Environment”
presented by Chip Gorra, The Camera Company. A discussion and demonstration on equipment design to bypass tape for recording and archiving programming.

“My Favorite Video or Audio Gizmo,Thingabob, Whatsamadoodle, Kachinga or Software” presented by Peter Pijoan from Wolfeboro (NH) Community Television and Nick Ring of CTSB Community Television of Southern Berkshires.  Bring something you'd like to share or your questions about those little things that make a difference.

 

Sessions at 3 pm

“The Complete Picture: Streaming Your Station” presented by Al Williams, Northampton Community Television, Jim Lescault of Amherst Media & others. A discussion of what equipment and software can be used for streaming and why you would consider doing this.

“Promoting Your Show: Social Media and Beyond” presented by Michelle Houle and Karen Hayden of Methuen Community Television, Bill Nay of mymasstv, and more! A discussion of the use of social media sites and upload services for getting the program out to a larger audience.
