NE Region Board at annual retreat

The ACM-NE Region board is currently meeting at the Beachmere Inn in Ogunquit, ME.

This is the fourth year we have met to set strategic direction, evaluate our work over the past year and plan for the future.

We are very excited about the upcoming year and invite our members to be in touch with board members as to how we are doing.

Don't forget the NE Region conference in Plymouth, MA begins November 1, 2012.

There has been quite a bit of news coming from the PEG community in Massachusetts.

Mass Access, the state organization closely associated with the Alliance for Community Media (ACM), is now its own, separate, non-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The official name of the organization is “Massachusetts Community Media, Inc”, but it will still be known as “Mass Access”.

Welcome to the New Site

ACMNE New LogoWelcome to the new site for ACM Northeast.  This site has been designed to enable posting of local and regional events, jobs as well as share the best videos from your centers and further necessary conversations for community media.

What a Diverse Region

It is easy to look at the states in our region and clump all our access centers together.  We're all small to medium sized and, hey, we're from the northeast, you either love us or hate us.

But when you take the time to look at it, each of our states has a unique way of providing community media.  Our state regulations dictate our structure and state organizations vary greatly.  Some of our states work in a union, others are fragmented.  Still others are finding a sustainable model and other looking to strenthen its coalition.  In some ways t is no wonder we dwell on our differences.
